Authentic Supply
Product identity and requested make reviewed against the exact sourcing requirement.
Sealing parts on an RO plant include brine seals on each element, O-rings on adapters and interconnectors, and gaskets on filter housings and vessel end caps. They are specified by size and by elastomer compatibility with the stream, temperature and any cleaning chemicals used.
ScientificEdge helps laboratories structure product, grade and documentation requirements for instruments, chemicals, filtration systems and consumables before supply is confirmed.

Sealing parts on an RO plant include brine seals on each element, O-rings on adapters and interconnectors, and gaskets on filter housings and vessel end caps. They are specified by size and by elastomer compatibility with the stream, temperature and any cleaning chemicals used.
Seals are the lowest-value parts in a water treatment plant and account for a disproportionate share of its unexplained faults. A brine seal fitted backwards lets feed bypass the element entirely; a housing gasket that has taken a set leaks under pressure but not at rest.
Elastomer choice is decided by the cleaning chemicals as much as by the process stream. A seal perfectly compatible with the feed can be attacked by the CIP solution used on it twice a year.
| Part | Function | Common materials |
|---|---|---|
| Brine seal | Forces feed through the element, not around it | EPDM |
| Adapter and interconnector O-rings | Seal permeate tube joints | EPDM, Viton |
| Vessel end cap O-rings | Seal the head against system pressure | EPDM, Viton |
| Filter housing gasket | Seals the bowl to the head | EPDM, silicone, Viton |
| Cartridge end cap O-rings | Seal 222 and 226 cartridges | Silicone, EPDM, Viton |
Material must suit the stream, the temperature and the cleaning chemicals. Confirm against the compatibility data for the seal quoted.
A brine seal is a U-cup that must open against the flow, so it presses outward against the vessel wall under pressure and forces feed through the element. Fitted the wrong way round it collapses instead, and feed flows around the element rather than through it.
The plant then shows high permeate conductivity and low permeate flow — symptoms that read as failed membranes. It is worth confirming seal orientation before ordering replacement elements, because the cost difference between the two diagnoses is very large.
Intervals are indicative planning figures. The signal in the last column is what should actually trigger the change.
| Item | Typical basis | Signs it is due |
|---|---|---|
| Brine seals | Every element change | High permeate conductivity with low permeate flow |
| Adapter and interconnector O-rings | Every element change | Unexplained permeate conductivity rise |
| Housing gaskets | On inspection or at each opening | Weeping at the bowl joint under pressure |
| End cap O-rings | Whenever the head is removed | Leakage at the vessel end |
Seals that have been compressed in service take a set. A reused seal may pass a bench check and leak under working pressure.
Once a plant has a year of running behind it, consumption for this item is predictable. Sending the plant list and last year's usage gets it scheduled against your maintenance calendar instead of ordered in an emergency at the point the plant is already out of specification.
Water treatment does not have a list price, and any supplier quoting one before seeing a feed analysis is quoting a different plant from the one you need.
On request, and capacity-dependent. Plant pricing moves with capacity, feed water analysis and the recovery target; membranes, cartridges and resins are quoted per element, per lot or per litre of media.
From a single replacement element or a case of cartridges through to full plant scope. Consumable lines are quoted per box or per lot, and the lot size is stated on the quotation.
Confirmed per line item at quotation stage. Stocked consumable lines and made-to-order plant differ substantially, so a single blanket lead time for the category would be misleading — the quotation carries the figure for each line.
GST invoice against company or institutional purchase order. Proforma issued where advance payment or internal approval requires it.
Despatch from Delhi NCR across India, including plant, project and institutional sites. Delivery city and site access are asked for at enquiry because both affect despatch mode.
Technical datasheet for the item quoted, and a test certificate where the principal supplies one with that product. Tender and institutional documentation formats are prepared on request — send the format with the enquiry so the quotation is issued in a form you can submit without rework.
Fields marked with an asterisk are required. The technical fields are what usually decide whether you get a quotation on the first pass or three emails of clarification.
The U-cup must open against the direction of feed flow, so pressure forces it outward against the vessel wall and seals the annulus.
Fitted the wrong way round it collapses under pressure and feed bypasses the element, producing high permeate conductivity and low flow that look like membrane failure.
EPDM is the common default for water treatment and tolerates most cleaning chemistries. Viton is used where the stream or chemicals attack EPDM, and silicone appears in sanitary cartridge duty.
Check compatibility against the cleaning chemicals as well as the process stream — CIP chemistry attacks seals that the feed never would.
Yes. Brine seals and adapter O-rings cost very little relative to the diagnostic time a leak consumes, and a seal that has been compressed for years has taken a set.
Keeping a full seal kit on site is what turns a two-day element change into a two-hour one.
Specified alongside o-rings and seals, and the category this page sits in.
